Tea is a part of me. From the time I was a little girl, I drank black tea \u2014 with family, with friends, at celebrations, to relax, to welcome guests, and to feel energised. I also grew up with the flavour of bitter orange blossom in my tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every spring, the orange trees would bloom; their sweet, heady fragrance would fill the air, and my sisters and I would collect the blossoms for my mother to make orange blossom water and jam. She would also add it to black tea. I love black tea (and continue to drink it today), but I was searching for something more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey began in 2015 when, by chance, I spotted hikers picking herbs on Mount Tochal in Northern Iran. They explained to me that the herb was Stachys lavandulifolia<\/em> (also known as pink cotton lamb\u2019s ear), which they called \u201cchai kohi\u201d, or mountain tea. That day, I found the \u201cmore\u201d I was looking for and became fascinated by how the earth provides plants that not only have their own natural qualities, but also taste so good as a cup of tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I set out to learn about other herbs and the different ways I could collect, dry and enjoy them as tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, my journey continues at Anousha Herb Farm in Imereti, Georgia<\/strong>, where I grow and tend our own herbs, including lemon verbena, Damask roses, lemon balm, mint, chamomile and other seasonal plants. I also continue to hand-pick herbs from the mountains and forests of Georgia, bringing together plants that are grown at our farm with those I find in the wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The farm has become much more than a place to grow herbs. We restored a beautiful old Georgian Oda house and created Herb Farm Cottage<\/strong>, surrounded by our gardens, herbs and the landscape of Imereti. It has become a special place for people to slow down, stay close to nature and experience the farm for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I work with herbs every day. They have become a part of my life, like a breath of fresh air and a constant connection with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m so sure of the quality and taste of these special herbal teas that I\u2019ve used my own name for them: Anousha. In Persian, Anousha is associated with meanings such as eternal, everlasting, sweet, joyful and fortunate. The word \u201cnoush\u201d is also used as a toast to one\u2019s health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As another personal touch, my logo is a bitter orange blossom (Citrus aurantium amara<\/em>), a five-petalled white flower. It represents the very beginning of my tea journey and the roots from which my business grew: natural products that bring feelings of happiness, health and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bring all of that together in Anousha Tea. I hope that every cup brings you a little closer to nature and gives you a moment of sweetness and joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
